'Blissful Balance' - glass artwork

‘Blissful Balance’ is a beautiful, fused glass artwork that captures the soft light and tranquil movement of a coastal sunset. Gorgeous glass colours delicately blend, gold leaf flecks sparkle in the light and seagull’s glide. Comprising of 9 contrasting yet complimentary glass tiles this coastal artwork is peaceful yet vibrant, still yet full of movement and tranquil yet joyful.  It’s an artwork to lose yourself, with subtle details to discover. It will connect to one’s internal sense of balance, emotionally and spiritually. 

A gorgeous streaky deep blue glass has been paired with a pretty blush pink glass for this sunset artwork. Flakes of 22.65 Karat gold flecks have been captured inside the glass layers and the top of the glass as been delicately sprinkled with an inky blue and hot pink glass powder. After fusing together in the kiln, the flight of seagull’s design is screen-printed on to the glass before firing in the kiln again. The glass is then hand finished, signed, and framed. 

Wendy’s artwork is made with high-quality fused glass. It is resistant to fading, cracking, and discoloration, ensuring that the artwork maintains its beauty over time.

Wendy’s home and glass studio is in the stunning coastal village of West Lulworth, Dorset. She adores the beaches and walks around Lulworth Cove, Oswald’s Bay, Durdle Door and Mupe Bay. 

Wendy has been working in fused glass for over 20 years since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 2000 and receiving funding from The Crafts Council to set up her studio.
